Editing our open scene on Final Cut Pro
Here are a few print screens of my group editing our opening of our music video which is the filming on the bus.
We then added the real audio by locking our film and deleting the audio we had from the our filming and then dragging the actual music of the song to the editing panel.
This first image is of our first opening scene which is on the bus. I've edited in the scene which I then cut to where the scene ends so that the next scene can be added.
We decided to have images of the singer having fun which we have edited in between each scene of the music video. These images will appear often when when the chorus of the song appears. We also added an effect in between the scene and the first image because when we played the scene, the jump cut to the images didn't fir in with the song. The effect we had was a fading to next scene effect which is called additive dissolve. The effect worked really good with the music video as it slowly fades the scene to the photos. I then added a few more images being in jump cuts which gave the effect of the images being one after the other and fading out.

Back Drop
We want a back drop for the filimg we do in the studio and thought we'd use a monnlight back drop because in the lyrics the word moonlight is used so we thoguht it would be a great idea to use a back drop like that as well as finding a monnlight that moves or have glitter falling in animation to match it to the lyrics.
My partner and I searching for a moonlight back drop.

This is our chosen back drop of a moonlight night.

Reckie
The term reckie for photographers, videographers and film makers is when they go take a look at potential sites for their shoots. This helps them to know what the lighting looks like at different times of the day, sound quality of the place, noise levels and what equipment they'll need to bring and where the electrical outlets are.
This is a reckie of all the locations we have decided to use for our music video which are the studio at college, the bus and out side.
This is the reckie for the bus for our opening scene. For the bus scene we couldn't take a light because there are no electrical outlets as well as it being a small area to film in but we were using a HD camera which had high key lighting on helping brighten the scene up for filming.
Here in this image you can see that the high key lighting has helped brighten up the image unlike the image above. The bus was in a secluded are where Mayday bus service keep all their coaches so it helped to film as there were no noises.
Location Shots
Here are our location shots which are the places we've decided to film for our music video. the first image is of the bus we've hired to shoot our opening scene and the second image is of the studio at out college which we will be filming the bridge of the song as well as other scenes in between and the photos for our digipak and magazine advert.

Magazine Advert Template
For our Music video we have to create a magazine advert so we chose Q Magazine and here we have drawn up an idea of how the front cover will be laid out. We chose to have the whole cover of the magazine covered with an image of our singer from the waist above holding the letters that make up the word Domino.

Dilemma
Dilemma!
We had a dilemma during the Christmas holidays because the artist we are doing, Jessie J, had just released the music video for the song we are doing. However because her video is a performance where she is singing in from of a green screen we discussed that we should continue on to do the song because our video is more along the lines of a story as well as performance.
We looked at the video and saw that some of the dance moves were really nice so thought we'd use them but change them around and add more dances to them.

Diary Entry
During class we were told that we had to do a recky and a risk assessment which are photos of our locations along with risk hazards that might occur during filiming. We had to do these because it helps to analyse the pros and cons of the locations as well as solving the problems so that when it comes to filming we are prepared and have notified everyone of what the risks are.

Dilemma!
We forgot to talk to a bus company to hire out a bus for 1 or 2 hours so that we can film the opening of our music video so we looked up some places on the internet and found a website where you can hire out old fashioned buses so we called them up in lesson. I gave all the details of when we wanetd to hire the bus and the the man gave us a quote of £378 which was way out of our budget seeing as we are filming for our music video and we dont have money to spend.
Our office teachers over heard our conversation and asked us what we needed a bus for whichwe explained and they said they can help us out as Harris Southnorwood has contact with Mayday bus company near Vally Park, Purley which they hire out bus for trips. They said they can organise it for us and that the inside of the coatches look like the inside of the red London buses which they were suuccessful in by getting us a slot on Friday 13th January at 1:30, which was when all our crew finished 6th form and also they many that owns the place hired the coatch out to us for free which was a great relief as we didnt have to spend any money. Also on top of that the man said he will also pcik us up and drop us back with his mini bus.
However, we had a big problem as a few people including my parnet had an exam at 1:15 on that Friday so I had to go speak to the office teachers the next day to tell them the bad news and hopefully they could arrange another filming day which they did for Friday 20th of January.

Diary Entry
In class recently I've analysed some of the camera shots and angles that I've considered using in my music video. The types of shots that stand out more are mostly medium and close up shots as they show the singer singing as well as her facial expression.
I've also looked ta the lyrics of the song and analysed the words that are used, looking at the meaning and how we can use some of the words and create a story from it.

Shot List
These are the main shots that we have considered to use in out music video, magazine and digi pak.

MEDIUM SHOT - is above the waist line and shows mostly facial expression and top half of the body language when interacting with others. This is also known as a social shot.

LONG SHOT - shows mostly landscape but gives the viewer a more specific idea of setting. A long shot may show the viewers the building where the action will take place.

CLOSE UP - this enables viewers to understand the actor's emotions and also allows them to feel empathy for the character. This is also known as a personal shot.

EXTREME CLOSE UP - contains one part of a character's face or object. This type of shot creates an intense mood and provides interaction between the audience and the viewer.
